Stratus IO - Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 1, 2025
Stratus IO, Inc. ("Stratus IO," "we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you visit our website, use our products, or interact with our services — including the Field Hub and Field Chart applications and related cloud services.
- Information We Collect
- Contact Information: Email address, and optionally name and company name, collected when you submit our website contact form.
- Website Usage Data: IP address, browser type, and device information when you interact with our website. We do not use third-party analytics or tracking scripts.
- Device Identity (Field Hub / Field Chart app users): A hardware-bound device identifier (a GUID derived from your device's unique hardware ID). This identifier is not linked to a named individual in our systems — it is used solely to authenticate your device to our cloud services.
- Field Hub Cloud Services Data: When you use Field Hub cloud features, we collect the data necessary to operate those services — including device identifiers, IP addresses, activity timestamps, and any measurement or session data you choose to upload. Sensitive credential content is encrypted end-to-end; decryption keys are never stored on our servers.
- How We Use Your Information
- Provide and operate our services, including authenticating and authorizing devices connecting to our cloud services
- Respond to inquiries and support requests
- Improve our products and user experience
- Security and abuse prevention — rate limiting, access auditing, and anomaly detection
- Comply with legal and regulatory requirements
We do not use your device data or measurement data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.
- Cookies and Tracking
Our website uses essential scripts for navigation and form functionality. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising tracking. The Field Hub and Field Chart applications do not use cookies — they communicate directly with our cloud services over HTTPS.
- Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Microsoft Azure: Our primary infrastructure sub-processor, providing hosting, cloud storage (Azure Blob Storage, Azure Table Storage), and telemetry (Azure Application Insights). Application Insights receives only operational metadata — it does not receive measurement data, sensor readings, or credential content.
- Legal Authorities: When required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
- Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information. All communication between the application and our cloud services is encrypted in transit. Credential content is encrypted on your device before transmission — decryption keys are never stored on our servers. Devices authenticate using short-lived tokens, and access to cloud storage is restricted to authorized personnel and service infrastructure.
No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
- Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable laws (such as GDPR, UK GDPR, Japan APPI, New Zealand Privacy Act, Mexico LFPDPPP, or CCPA), including:
- Accessing the personal data we hold about you or your device
- Requesting corrections or deletion of your data
- Withdrawing consent — you may disable cloud features in the application at any time to stop future data transmission; previously uploaded data is subject to our retention schedule
- Exercising data portability and restriction rights
To exercise these rights, contact us at or write to us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
- International Data Transfers
If you access our services from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. We take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
- Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” at the top indicates the latest revision. Continued use of our services after changes means you accept the updated policy.
